Product and Safety Disclaimer

Great North Gear products are designed, engraved, assembled and/or hand-finished in Ontario using materials selected for each item. Depending on the product, those materials may include Canadian hardwood, slate, acrylic, bamboo, acacia and marble. The material, intended use and care instructions for each item appear on its product page.

Natural Materials

Wood and slate naturally vary in colour, grain, texture, markings and edge shape. Hardwood may expand, contract, warp or develop small checks in response to humidity, temperature and use. Live edges may include natural contours or minor texture variations. These characteristics are normal and are not considered defects.

Food Use and Care

Only products identified as food-safe should be used for food preparation or serving. Follow the care instructions on the product page. Unless specifically stated otherwise, wash wood serving pieces by hand, dry them promptly and do not soak them or place them in a dishwasher. Decorative signs and acrylic light displays are not intended as food-contact products.

Safe Handling

Inspect each product when it arrives and periodically during use. Stop using an item if it becomes damaged or develops a loose component or sharp edge. Decorative LED displays are not toys. Keep acrylic inserts, small components, cords and electrical parts away from young children and pets, use a compatible USB power source and keep electrical components dry.

Responsibility and Remedies

By purchasing or using a Great North Gear product, you acknowledge its stated materials, intended use and normal natural variations. Great North Gear is not responsible for damage caused by misuse, improper care, alteration, incompatible power sources or failure to follow product instructions.

Our responsibility is limited to repair, replacement or refund of the product’s purchase price, at our discretion. Nothing in this disclaimer limits rights or remedies available under applicable consumer protection laws.
