A one-of-a-kind live edge sign made for the person who has claimed a workshop, garage, studio, shed or man cave as their own.

Each piece is made from natural hardwood and custom engraved with a name, title and design to suit the recipient. The live edge, grain and colour vary naturally, so every sign is genuinely unique.

Choose a design direction

Use one of these real Great North Gear examples as a starting point, or ask us to create a new theme around the recipient:

  • Noah’s Man Cave: “Where Good Ideas & Bad Decisions Are Made,” with a vintage truck and tools
  • Spencer’s Workshop: “I Make Things Go”
  • Sophia’s Workshop: “Knower of Stuff / Fixer of Things”
  • Lance’s Shop: Hunting-themed design with a deer and rifle
  • Your own shop, garage, shed or studio: Send us the name, wording and interests you would like incorporated

Why it makes a great gift

  • Personalized with the recipient’s name
  • Ideal for milestone birthdays, retirement gifts, Father’s Day or a new workshop/garage
  • Custom artwork and wording can be adapted to the person
  • Made from solid hardwood and engraved permanently
  • Hand-finished in Canada

The photos show real Great North Gear examples including workshop and man-cave designs. Your finished piece will be created specifically for you rather than copied exactly.

How customization works: Tell us the name, wording and general theme you have in mind. If you have a logo, sketch, photo or design idea, we can review it before engraving. We’ll confirm the layout with you for custom requests where needed.

Please note: Live-edge wood varies naturally in shape, grain, knots and colour. Those differences are part of the character of the finished piece.

Complimentary reverse-side engraving: Add one family name and/or one date in a simple standard layout at no extra charge. Detailed artwork, logos, or longer messages may require a custom quote. Enter your request in the personalization or Special Notes field where shown. If no field appears, email support@greatnorthgear.ca after ordering and include your order number.

Hanging hardware: Hanging hardware is not included. Please choose a mounting option suitable for your wall and the weight of your piece.
